So in the 20 some years I've been practicing, I've raised my rates slightly, only twice.  Accessibility/Affordability are high on my priority list when I consider what I charge.  My work is more of a preventative "clinical" treatment than luxury spa service, and that is what I intend.  The people I want to reach are those who most need pain management, injury recovery, stress reduction, etc., not simply those who can pay the highest rates.  Without coming across preventative care practitioners who were affordable,  talented, effective and compassionate, I and many other people wouldn't have benefited from care like massage, chiropractic, reflexology, acupuncture, etc. The people I've come across in these fields who know their worth and still price themselves at an affordable range have been my kindred spirits and role models.  It has been very difficult deciding whether or not to raise my rates, but with current costs of living being what they are, I've decided to increase them beginning May 10th 2022.  From that point on, my standard rates will increase from 70 an hour to 85 an hour, from 90 for an hour and a half to 110 for an hour and a half, and from 35 a half hour to 50 a half hour.  Any existing clients who have a rate set for sliding scale and need to keep that rate for financial reasons, you may continue the same rate, if you have a frequent client discount, and can afford it, please add ten dollars to your current rate starting May 10th. I will still consider sliding scale for new clients as well as offer an adjusted discount for frequent visits.
